Deo Gratias

Deo Gratias is Latin for “Thanks be to God.” Remembering to give thanks for all of our blessings, big and small, helps us to find God in our everyday moments and gives us an attitude of gratitude!

Colleen at Thoughts on Grace has organized this meme and you can contribute by clicking here.

This week I’m thankful for:

  1. The Holiday Inn in Datong. I visited the town and it’s rather down and out. Thank God, truly, that there was a Western hotel with a great bathroom and the news in English. I could sightsee by day and savor a hot bath and CNN and Channel News Asia by night.
  2. The pink blossoms on our trees. Peach blossoms, I think.
  3. Getting inspired to speak up online some about the new marriage laws that are under consideration. Jeremy Irons inspired me as being silent isn’t what we’re called to do.
  4. My friend Ian is back in Jinan filling in for a teacher who had to leave suddenly.
  5. Poetry. It’s National Poetry month and a couple friends have been writing and sharing their works. I think J’Ann’s should be published – wonderful poetry about her mom.

Great list. I am feeling the need to speak out about marriage too. I have to pray more though. I am a bit frightened of doing so, which says something in and of itself doesnt it?
So nice to have a great bathroom! We take them for granted!
BTW, I love your quotes on the side.
Thanks for joining me in this meme! God bless!
